In the past few years, we have had excellent performers like Native Deen, comedian Mohamed Amer, Hamza Robertson, and Sr. Mona Haydar. This year, insha-Allah, we are working on an entertainment session that will be even more awesome and will include segments that the whole family will enjoy.
Included in our list of entertainers is Gaith Adhami, a poet, songwriter, and spoken word artist who is currently working on a project that is merging the worlds of spoken word poetry, nasheed, and Arabic folk music. Gaith currently performs with nasheed legend, Mohamad Abu Ratib, and write songs for several artists in English and Arabic.
Also included in our list is the Nasheed group, Noor. Noor has shared the stage with internationally known artists such as Ustadh Muhammad Abu Ratib and Sami Yusuf; their intent is to make traditional nasheed mainstream by producing high quality songs with classic, wholesome lyrics in order to offer Muslims around the world a hip Islamic alternative to standard commercialized music.
NEW! We have also just confirmed local talent Manifest One! After performing for the first time at age 17, his words matured to become greater in symbolism, rhyme, and vocabulary articulation. Releasing a compilation every summer between 2001 and 2003, the summer of 2004 marked the debut of Manifest's album 'One' -- a twenty three track compilation of poetic material. Manifest's intent is to, God Willing, inspire others to raise their pens and power of speech to dawn a new day. "The sunrise sees new beginnings over the darkness that passed." -- Manifest One.
